Shawn Tibbetts

Shawn J. Tibbetts has over 20 years of corporate leadership experience. Prior to taking the lead as President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Tibbetts joined Armada Hoffler as Chief Operating Officer in 2019. He was appointed Chairman of the Board effective January 1, 2026, where he provides strategic leadership to the company while ensuring strong governance and accountability is achieved across the organization.
Prior to joining Armada Hoffler, he served as The Port of Virginia’s President and Chief Operations Officer, where he led port-wide operations and large-scale infrastructure development projects focused on improving efficiency, reliability, and financial performance across the port ecosystem, while building teams and enhancing organizational leadership within the complex supply chain environment.
Mr. Tibbetts earned his undergraduate degree from James Madison University, his MBA from the College of William & Mary, and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
