T. Rowe Price kicks off development of new Harbor Point headquarters

T. Rowe Price Group Inc. officials said planning the firm’s new global headquarters during a pandemic was a challenging task fraught with uncertainty about the future of the workplace and a changing workforce.

But when shovels hit the ground on Tuesday at Harbor Point, all that was replaced with optimism.

“It’s been a bit of a strange journey and not an easy road,” said Rob Sharps, CEO of the Baltimore-based money manager during a kickoff event for the 550,000-square-foot project. “We’re very excited about Harbor Point. We view it as a long-term investment in our associates, our clients and our community.”

The massive project will commence in the coming weeks and serve as a new centerpiece of Harbor Point’s ongoing evolution from the former Allied Signal plant into an upscale mixed-use complex.
