Chronicle Mill Succeeds in 2023 Awards Season
Since opening in March 2023, Chronicle Mill has established itself as a prime example of successful adaptive reuse within its community and far beyond. Spearheaded by John and Jennifer Church in collaboration with Armada Hoffler, it has completely transformed the lives of many while revitalizing a vital piece of history in Belmont, North Carolina.
Throughout the past year, Chronicle Mill has exemplified the highest standard of excellence in property development, resulting in overwhelming success. Today, we celebrate the impact of this mixed-use property by highlighting its various awards and recognitions received in 2023.
Charlotte Business Journal Heavy Hitters Awards
Chronicle Mill was honored as the Top Adaptive Reuse Development at the Charlotte Business Journal’s 2023 Heavy Hitters Commercial Real Estate Awards. This award recognizes the project’s excellence in transforming the former textile mill into a modern, thriving mixed-use development.
IIDA Carolinas DesignWorks Awards
The IIDA Carolinas DesignWorks Awards presented top honors to Chronicle Mill, recognizing it as a leader in adaptive reuse. This acknowledgment reflects the project’s innovative design, preserving historical elements and creating a space that resonates with the community.
MHN Excellence Awards
Multi-Housing News (MHN) honored Chronicle Mill with the Silver Award for Best Adaptive Reuse during its 17th annual Excellence Awards. This recognition acknowledges the project’s distinction in multifamily development, commending its successful transformation of a historic mill into a modern residential community.
Building NC Renovation Award
Chronicle Mill also received the Building NC Renovation Award in November 2023. The award recognizes Chronicle Mill’s contribution to the adaptive reuse landscape in North Carolina, commending our construction team for their dedication to preserving the historical integrity of the mill.
NAHB Best in American Living Awards
Chronicle Mill is also in contention for top honors at the NAHB Best in American Living Awards, making the finals in the Adaptive Reuse, Multifamily category. The winners will be announced in February 2023. This recognition showcases Chronicle Mill’s distinction among the best developments nationwide.
